Here's the next post regarding DNBN. I know a lot happened since my last article, and the posts about DNBN may seem irrelevant or old at this point, but I need to finish the "chapter" I started, so I am going to finish this section and go over more current issues.

In my previous post about DNBN explaining how the site was overridden by CJS fans, mostly Junsu's fans from Ikadong, I mentioned that some fans were taking issues with the announcement the ex-admin posted. Here's the screencap of that annoucement, transcript in Korean and translation. Those Ikadong & CJS fans used this post as an excuse to kick out the ex-admins and take over the site.

오늘은 유감스럽게도, 안녕하시냐는 첫 머리 인사가 나오지 않네요.이해해주실 거라 생각합니다.

7월31일 뜬 전속계약 효력정지 가처분 기사를 보고 미처 말도 안 나올 만큼 큰 충격을 받으셨을 여러분의 심정,같은 팬으로서 어느 하나 실낱 같은 감정도 뺴놓지 않고 공감하고 있습니다.저희도 뒷통수에 무어라도 맞은 것 마냥 놀랐고 지금도 당황을 금할 수 없습니다.

동네방네가 독립한 뒤 관리자로 지내면서 여러가지 일이 있었지만 물론 이것에 비할수는 없네요, 저희가 부족한 점이 많았지만 언제나 믿고 칭찬해주시는 덕택에 균형감각과 조용한 모습을 잃지 말자고 스스로 자책하고 토론하고 논의하며 노력해 왔습니다.평범한 일개 팬이었던 저희들이 팬덤엔 어지러운 일이 정말 많다는 씁쓸한 사실을 배우고 실수도 하면서,짧다면 짧은 기간 정말 많은 것을 배웠습니다. 어쨌거나 우리의 목적은 동네방네를 통해 다 함께 널리널리 동방신기를 즐기는 것이었고, 미약하나마 도움이 되어서 늘 즐거웠습니다.

사실은 드릴 말씀이 너무나 많습니다.

이미 6월 말께에 이 이야기를 접해 여러가지 갈등 상황이 발생했음을 파악하고 멤버들의 부모님,S.M.Entertainment 에 1:1 로 대화를 요청해 만남을 가졌습니다.놀란 팬분들도 계시지요?ㅜ_ㅜ 이일에 대해 말씀드리지 않은것은 물론 나중에 일이 잘 풀렸을때 저희 행동과 발언이 누가 될까 싶어 밖으로 나가지 않도록 조용히 스스로를 단속한 것이니 양해해 주실 거라 믿습니다.

저희도 이야기를 담고 있으면서 마음이 무겁고 괴로워고,수십 시간 한숨 섞인 회의 릴레이를 했고,이런 갈등이 있어 우리가 괴로워야만 한다는 사실이 밉기도 했었죠. 하지만 다른 팬분들처럼 동방신기의 건강한 존재를 바라며 그를 위한 부드러운 해결을 바라는 것은 여전합니다.

그래서 더더욱 길고 민감하며 구체적인 이야기까지 낱낱히 말씀드리기가, 지금은 어려울것 같습니다. 이 모든게 좋은 얘기들이 아니기 때문에,긍정적인 효과를 바라는 선까지만 말씀을 드리려고 합니다. 일단 이렇게 말씀드리고 구체적인 사실은 시간을 갖고 면밀하게 논의와 검토를 마친 후에 다시 고하겠습니다.

그리고 이글을 보실 멤버,부모님들, S.M.Entertainment 에게 말씀 드립니다.

이제 여러분은 물밑 공방에서 빠져 나와 본격적인 언론 플레이와 공세에 최선을 다 하실 겁니다.순식간에 이곳은 내노라 하는 언론 플레이 최강자들의 경합장이 되고 팬들은 우왕좌왕 하겠지요.

하지만, 단 한가지는 잊지 말아주세요.

확인하셨다시피 동방신기의 존폐 여부는 논해진다는 자체만으로 엄청난 사회적 영향력을 가지고 있습니다. 그리고 이후에도 어떤 반응이 일어날지 장담할수 없습니다.절대로 이를 가볍게 생각하지 말아주세요.가볍게 생각한다면 좋은 결과를 보실수 없으리라고 장담합니다. 이일에 있어 팬들은 결코 제 삼자일 수 없으며, 어떤 작은 부정적 변화가 있을시에도 팬들은 가장 최대의 피해자입니다.

저희의 슬로건입니다.언제나 동방신기를 응원해 왔습니다.응원하고 싶습니다. 항상 같은 마음으로 해외 활동까지 적극응원해왔던 한국의 카시오페아들, 역시 패닉 상태에 빠진 바나 건너 일본의 비기스트, 그외 아시아,미주,유럽 등지에까지 수 많은 팬분들…. 모두 동방신기 하나만을 바라보고 믿어왔죠.

저희가 감히 팬 대표는 아니지만, 이미 비슷한 감정을 겪었던지라 이렇게 갈등이 표면화 되고 공방을 거치며 수 없이 상처받을 우리 팬분들이 너무나 염려 됩니다. 진실로 마음이 아픕니다.

팬들이 물밑의 계약 트러블까지 인식하지 않도록 지금까지 멤버,S.M.Entertainment(+부모님들)는 물밑에서 최선의 노력을 기울여 주셨어야 옳으며, 그걸 하지 못했다면 이제부터라도 원만한 해결을 위해 팔 다리 걷고 무조건 뛰셔야 합니다.

특히 어느 누구라도 팬을 볼모로 장난치시면 좌시하지만은 않을 겁니다. 원만한 해결을 바라는 마음으로, 또 한편으로는 차갑고 이성적인 태도로 여러분을 지켜보고 있겠습니다.

어쩌면 저희가 팬 여러분들께 혼란을 안겨드릴지도 모릅니다.그러나 저희도 무거운 마음으로 검토하고 또 검토한 선택이자 개입입니다.

어쩌면 동방신기라는 팀을 좋아하는 이유가 제각기 다르듯,어떤 분들은 그런 저희의 의도를 전혀 새롭게 받아들일지도 모르겠습니다.’쟤들 누구를 두둔하는 거야, 무슨 목적이 있는 걸 거야.왜 나서?’ 그런 생각 하고 싶지 않아도 극단적인 개인팬분들 볼 기회가 많았던 저희는 어느 정도 씁쓸한 예상이 됩니다.

하지만, 이 상황에서 모든 사태를 균형 있게 보고 바른 판단을 하여 엇나간 것들을 바로 잡을 사람도,카시오페아와 비기스트 우리 팬들- 즉 ‘우리 자신’을 바라보고 지켜줄 사람이 단 하나 없다는 사실이 안타깝고 또 안타깝습니다. 회의를 하고 또 해봐도, 결론은 하나 밖에 나오지 않습니다.저희는 그런 역활을 자처하고 계약 당사자들을 압박하고 싶고,그럴 수 밖에 없습니다.선택지가 하나 뿐입니다.

덧붙여, 새 글이 나오기 전까지 루머에 대한 당부를 드리고 싶습니다.

모든 부모님들께서 친절하게 맞아주셨지만,들은 것은 생각보다 더 심각한 갈등 상황이었습니다.이미 이야기가 일부 팬들에게 번진 터라,그걸 극단적 개인팬이 자기 입장에 유리하도록 글을 만들어 올렸고-즉 루머 이글루스가 속속 나타났고,그로 인해서 이미 갈등하고 있던 부모님들 사이가 더더욱 감정적 골이 깊어져 있었다는 걸 알수 있었습니다. 모든 부모님들께 그런 건 믿지 마시라 말씀을 드렸지만 자신의 자식 혹은 동생에 관한 이야기인데 어찌 보고 마음이 편안할 수 있겠습니까. 말씀 중에도 이런 이야기는 너무 억울하다-라는 식으로 약간씩 루머 언급이 있었습니다.

저희가 여러 사람을 모두 만나본 결과 처음부터 끝까지 사실로만 말짱한 이글루스는 찾아볼 수 없더군요.적당한 사실 속에 앞으로 자신들을 보호할 용도의 말이 교묘히 들어있는 것이 저희 눈에는 너무 잘 보였고,그냥 자기가 좋아하는 멤버 한 몸만 챙기면 된다 식으로 다른 멤버를 비난하는 날카로운 말들에 화가 나더군요.

루머는 갈등을 심화시킬 뿐입니다. 섣부른 추측은 하지 말아주세요.저희가 판단하기에 사실이 아닌 것들도 버젓이 돌아다니고 있어 안타깝습니다.

구체적 입장차를 명시한 다음 글을 올리기에 앞서,많은 분들과 계속 대화할 의지를 갖고 있습니다.일이 터지고 연락 안닿는 분들이 몇분 계시는데 저희 연락처 아실테니 연락 주시길 바랍니다.

This is the admin of DNBN.

Regretfully, I cannot say a greeting today. I hope you understand.

I’m sure that all of you are in shock and lost for words after hearing the news on July 31st regarding the injunction, suspending the effect of the exclusive contract, and as fans ourselves, we can totally identify with what you are going through.

We were also caught off guard as if we were hit on the head with something, and we’re still in shock even at this time.

There were many events that happened after DNBN separated [DNBN was part of another site], but nothing compares to this.

I know we had lots of room for improvement, but thanks to your support and trust, we always worked to be objective and calm and always had discussions and evaluated ourselves. We were just mere fans, but we found out how complicated the fandom is, made mistakes, and learned a lot of things in this short period of time. Anyways, our goal was to enjoy TVXQ through DNBN, and we were always pleased that we could be of little help.

To be frank with you, I have a lot of things to talk about.

I already found out that various conflicts were brewing, and had 1:1 meetings with the parents of the members and S.M. Entertainment around the end of June. I’m sure some of you are surprised by it. The reason we never mentioned about it is to prevent our actions and words causing any trouble in case things got resolved. We were just trying to be quiet, and I hope you understand.

While keeping this among ourselves, our hearts were heavy with distress, held countless hours of meetings to discuss the matter, and hated the fact that we were suffering because of the conflicts. However, just like other fans, it doesn’t change that we want smooth resolution for the healthy existence of TVXQ.

It is going to be difficult to tell long and sensitive details because of that. Since these are not pleasant stories, we’d like to tell you just enough to have positive effect, and more detailed facts will be told after having close discussions and review for some time.

Now, this is for the members, parents, and S.M. Entertainment who would be reading this.

Now you will leave the private discussions, and put our effort to be on offensive through media. Immediately, this place will become the battle zone for the best media players, and the fans will be confused.

However, please don’t forget this one thing.

As you are aware, the mere discussion of keeping TVXQ will cause huge social impact. We cannot foresee what kind of reaction will happen afterward. Please do not think lightly of this. I guarantee that you won’t reach good result if you don’t take this seriously. The fans surely cannot be the outsider in this, and they will be the victims if any negative change happens.

We are always TVXQ.

This is our motto. We always supported TVXQ, and we want to support them. Cassiepeias, actively supported even the overseas activities as one, Bigeasts, who are also in panic, and countless fans of Asia, America, and Europe… They supported and trusted only TVXQ.

We are not the representatives of the fans, but because we already went through the emotions, if the conflict surfaces and battled out, we are seriously worried about the fans who will get hurt. We truly feel for them.

The members and the S.M.Entertainment (+the parents) should have tried their best for the fans to not find out about the troubles regarding the contract while the issues were under the surface, and if you didn’t do that, then you should put your best effort now for the smooth resolution.

If any side tries to play game by taking fans as hostage, we won’t sit and do nothing. We wish for an amicable settlement, but on the other hand, we’ll be watching you with cool and objective eyes.

It is possible that it is us who may be creating confusion to the fans, but we decided to get involved with heavy heart after thinking about it over and over.

Just like there are many reasons for liking TVXQ, some may take our intentions wrongly. “Why are they taking sides? They must have an agenda, why are they interfering?” We don’t want to think that way, but sadly, because we had many chances to encounter extreme individual fans, we can expect it somewhat.

It is frustrating that there’s no one to look at this crisis with balance and make a correct decision to fix what went astray, and it is again frustrating that there’s no one to protect our fans, Cassies and BigEasts. We only got one conclusion after going through many meetings. That is to voluntarily assume that role and pressure the parties involved, and we have to do it. That’s the only choice we’ve got.

Also, we’d like to ask you regarding the rumors until new announcement is posted.

Every parents treated us kindly, but what we’ve heard about the situation was a lot more serious than what we thought. Some of these info were already spread among some fans, and some extreme individual fans already wrote articles in their favor – many egloos [blogs] with rumors started appearing, and we found out that the wounds of the parents who were already in disagreement got deeper because of those. We told every parents to not believe such things, but I’m sure they’re uncomfortable since those are about their children and brothers. They did mention a few times that some of the rumors were unfair during conversations.

After meeting many people, there wasn’t a single egloos we could find that was factual all the way. We could easily see that cleverly disguised posts to protect themselves within some facts. We were upset at sharply criticizing other members just to protect one of the favorite member.

Rumor will magnify conflicts. Please do not make a hasty speculation. It’s frustrating that some stuff that we think is not true are openly floating around.

Before posting next announcement listing different stances in detail, we are willing to have continuous conversations with many of you. We weren't able to contact some of you after things happened, so please contact us since you have our contact info.

So that was the post she made that got all the ex-admins in trouble with the members, I mean the infiltrators from Ikadong.

After the admin "Byul" resigned from DNBN and DNBN server was moved to the current address of dnbn.pe.kr, she kept the original dnbn.org and wrote many posts about interviews she had with the parents, her opinions about the issues, and directions for the fans to take to get the 5 back. If you know Korean, you should visit the site and read her posts, especially the interviews with the parents. I may translate some of her posts in the future. She also created a site "saveTVXQ" in an effort to get the 5 back by demanding resolution from both SM & CJS, but it didn't work out and the site is closed now and the address redirects to dnbn.org.

I think at the time that announcement was posted, they were already aware of the 6.25 meeting, and also knew the conflict started because of the cosmetics business. CJS' fans, who already received "directives" from the 6.25 meeting, and were actively spreading rumors by then, took over the site and kicked the true OT5 admins out, and we all know what happened to DNBN afterward.

Here's a video made by a fan at Daum Telzone TVXQ Gallery (her nickname is Maximum). I've been working on translating it with few other people, and we just finished it today. Besides the English version, there are Japanese, Chinese and (of course) a Korean version of the video uploaded on her channel so check them out. She's working on translating it to other languages, and many i-fans are volunteering for the task. It's nice to see the fans working together. :)

DNBN Part I - How the site was taken over

As most fans of TVXQ know, the most prominent fan site of TVXQ was DNBN (동네방네 Dong Nae Bang Nae). Many fans, including international fans, used to visit the site to get the latest info about TVXQ.
DNBN's address was originally "www.dnbn.org", but soon after the breakup, most of the original admins resigned (basically kicked out), and the site was moved to the current address "www.dnbn.pe.kr" and is run by new admins. After the take over by the new admins, it turned into a fan site that only gave supports to the 3 instead of giving equal supports to all 5 members while advocating itself to be an OT5 fan site.

So what happened to it? Why was a most popular TVXQ fan site became a site that only supports CJS?

Here's a well known post by a blogger that explains in detail what happened at DNBN after the lawsuit was filed. It was posted on 1/28/2011, right after Akadong and DNBN finally decided to show their true colors by officially announcing their sole support of the 3..

아... 네, 이카동 공지 이후에. 이미 예상하고 있었던 일이 일어났습니다.
이카동 띠까리 동네방네가 공식적인 현판 갈아치우기 작업을 실행한 거에요.
그런데, 너무나 뻔뻔스럽고 참 대담해서 이 상황에 대해 어리둥절하신 분들을 위해서 제가 부연설명을 하고싶어 졌어요.
정말 짜증나고 분해서. 동네방네가 여기까지 오게 된 그 전말이 너무나 궁금하신 분들을 위해서 제가 설명을 드리고 싶어졌다 이 말씀입니다.

왜 제가 동네방네를 그토록 역겨워 하는 줄 아십니까? 어째서 삼네방네라고 불리는 지 아시냐구요.
제가 판이 이지경이 될 때까지 동네방네에서 무슨 일이 있었는 지 설명드리죠.

소송이 터지고 나서... 그래도 그나마 예의있다고 '저 또한' 자부했던 동네방네 또한 루머 판이 됩니다.
규칙은 무용지물이 되고, 온갖 루머들이 돌아다녔죠. 그래서 결국 전 관리자였던 한 분이 공지글을 띄우게 됩니다.
그때 당시에는 저 또한 그 공지를 믿지 못했습니다. 대체 그 관리자라는 게 뭐길래? 이런 공지글을 세우는 거지?
게다가 니가 아버지를 만났다고? 웃기고 있네.

그리고 거의 대부분의 회원분들은 여기에 저처럼 반기를 들었죠.
마스터 분이 자신의 권력을 남용했다는 듯이 분위기를 몰아갔어요. 저도 사실.. 그 분위기에 합류해서, 또 신속히 이 소동이 마무리 될 거라고 생각했기에
그 관리자분의 말이 허무맹랑하고 이상한 분위기를 조장하고 있다고 믿었죠.
사실 이때부터 의심을 했어야 하는데.. 동네방네라는 곳이 관리자분들에게 이래라 저래라 하는 경우가 많지 않거든요.
하지만 시기가 시기인지라, 또 사안이 사안인 지라 회원분들이 화가 났다고 믿은 저는... 그런데... 뭔가 이상했습니다.

다락방에서, 혹은 그 공지의 댓글창에서 목소리를 높이며 회원들을 '선동'하다 시피 한 분들 대다수가,
신생 회원으로 추정되는 분들이었거든요. 갑자기 나타나신 분들이 갑자기 끼어들어서 일명 물타기를 하기 시작한겁니다.
제 느낌이겠거니 하고 넘어갔지만, 나중에서야, 한참 후에서야 깨달았죠. 그게 물타기였다는 것을.

그분들이 어디서 유입된 분들일까요? 대체 누구였을까요?

그때 당시 다락방에 이카동 캡쳐가 하나 올라왔었습니다. 아주 우연히. 사실 지금은 그게 우연인지도 의심가는 바이지만...

바로 이카동에 누군가가 동네방네의 관리를 부탁하는 캡쳐였습니다. 그리고 그 글들에 대한 댓글들은 그것에 대해 옳다는 쪽으로 이미 기운상태였구요.

한마디로 말해서 이카동에서 관리가 나오기 시작한거에요. 그 캡쳐는, 그것을 알려주는 시발점이었구요.

실제로 이카동과 동네방네에서 똑같은 아이디/닉네임을 쓰시던 분들은 그 캡쳐 이후에 관리자에 대한 글들을 많이 올리셨었던 것이 밝혀졌고.
일단 그분들은 그 캡쳐 이후에 다 잡아내어지게 됩니다. 그런데, 아이디/닉네임이 다른 분들은 잡아낼 재간이 없었죠.
결국 남은 이카동 스파이 분들은 더 활개를 치기 시작했습니다. 사태는 그 이전보다 더 악화되기 시작했어요.
그 캡쳐 이후에 이카동 분들을 어느정도 추스려 냈다고해도
이미 분위기는 기울었으니... 조금만 더, 조금만 더 불을 지피면 상황 오버였으니까요. 그분들이 물러설 이유는 없었죠.
정말... 절망스러웠습니다. 제 눈에는 누가 선동하고 있는 줄 뻔히 보이는데도, 너 이상한데 라고 댓글만 달면... 뭐.. 상상에 맡기시겠습니다.

결국 그 이후에 여러 관리자님들과 스텝님들은 탈퇴를 하시게 됩니다.
근데 가관이었어요. 그때동안 일해주신 건 생각안하고 등을 떠밀었죠. 악성댓글을 달고.
진짜 예의하나는 바르신 분들이었는데.... 아주 댓글란은 참혹했죠.
이때까지 수고하신 분들에게 아주 꺼지라며 침을 뱉는 꼴이었어요. 그리고 저는 그 댓글란을 보면서 동네방네에 대한 모든 애정을 접게됩니다.
진짜... 참,

그리고 그 이후에- 현 org를 버리고 주소와 서버를 이전하자는 글들이 올라와요.
근데 또 어떤 분이 정말 혜성같이 등장하십니다. 대체 어디서 나온건지 알 수도 없는데
현 동네방네 총 관리자인 사유리라는 분이, 갑자기 등장하게 됩니다.
대체 어디서 나타나셨는지. 여하간 자기가 www.dnbn.pe.kr라는 도메인을 사놨다면서 이전작업을 착수하겠대요.
회원들은 거기에 동의를 했죠.

근데 저는 그 꼴이 참 웃기고 어이가 없었습니다. 진짜 어디서 듣도보도 못한 분이 갑자기 나타나서

마치 이 상황을 모두 다 예상하고 있었다는 듯이 도메인을 사다놓은 그 상황을 의심조차 하지 않는 이 멍청한 회원들의 대갈통이라니.

진짜... 병신같은 것들.

하기사. 진짠지 훼이크인지 어쩐지 신상정보를 올려놨기도 했으니 병신같은 회원들은 그걸 곧이곧대로 믿었겠죠.

뭐~ 그리고 그 이후에는 여러분이 아시는 바와 같이 그 물타기/선동을 도맡아 했던 분들이
도메인 이전 후에 스텝/관리자 신청란에 지원을 하게 되요. 전에 관리하셨던 분들은 진짜;; 백에 하나 찾아볼 수 있을까 말까 하게 지원을 하고..
스텝/관리자에 신청하신 대다수는...
누구냐고요? 누구긴 누구겠어요 한자리 맡으려고 발악하던 이모님들이지.

그래서 제가 동네방네와 이카동에 학을 떼는 겁니다. 이카동이라고 별 다를 줄 아십니까?
지금 동네방네에서 한가닥 한다 하시는분들 거의다 이카동 분들이시구요. 동네방네에 난입해서 개판 만들어 놓은게 바로 그 이카동 분들입니다.

한마디 하건데 지금 동네방네와 이카동을 분리해서 생각하시는 것은 전혀 도움이 안되요.

동네방네=이카동입니다. 그냥 간단하게 이렇게 생각하시면 되요.
뭐... 결론에 비해서 서론과 본론이 좀 길었죠? 뭐 그냥 이건 제 넋두리라고 생각하시고. 이만 이 포스팅을 접도록 하겠습니다.

Ah…Yes, after the announcement by Akadong, its pawn DNBN officially changed their stance as expected. However, their move is so shameless and daring, it gave me the urge to further explain the situation to the people who are baffled by all this.
It’s so annoying and upsetting, I want to tell the whole story to those who are curious, how DNBN came to this.

Do you know why I am so disgusted at DNBN? Do you know why its called “SamNeBangNe” ? (note: Sam means Three in Korean, and DNBN is called “SamNeBangNe” by some fans because of they always supported only the 3) I will explain what happened at DNBN.

After the lawsuit… DNBN, considered to be courteous including myself, was run over with rumors. Rules became useless, and all kinds of rumors floated around prompting one of the ex-admin to post an announcement.

But at that time, even I couldn’t trust the announcement. I thought, who did she think she was? Why did she make such an announcement? On top of that, she met their parents? Bullcrap!

And most of the members opposed her just like I did. The atmosphere was turning towards the admin abusing her power.
Even I... went along with it. I thought this crisis would be resolved soon, and I thought what she said was absurd and believed she was making things weird.

Actually, I should’ve suspected something at that time because it was rare at DNBN to tell the admins this and that, but I just felt that the members were upset because of the timing and (the sensitivity of) the issue… but, something was strange.

Most of the people instigating the members in the attic (members only forum) or posting replies on her announcement looked to be new members. They suddenly came out and started to drive members’ opinions.
I overlooked it thinking I was just being sensitive, but I realized much later that they were manipulating opinions.

Where did they come from? Who were they?

Around that time, a screencap from Akadong happened to be posted. I have doubts now if it was just a happening…
It was a screencap of someone asking Akadong to control DNBN. And the replies to that post were already agreeing to the request.

Simply said, Akadong came out to manipualte opinions. That screencap was telling the start of their actions.

After the screencap was posted, it was actually discovered that the members who were using the same id/nickname in both Akadong and DNBN were making many posts about the admin, and those people were all caught. However, there was no way to catch people who had different id/nickname.

Eventually, the rest of the Akadong spies became more active, and the situation started to get worse than before.
Even though some people from Akadong were weeded out after the screencap, they had no reason to back off since the opinions already tilted…… just a bit more push and the situation would be over.

It was really…hopeless. I could clearly see who were the manipulators, but if one raises any kind of question about them… well, I’ll leave the rest to your imagination.

Eventually, many admins and staffs resigned. It was a ridiculous sight to see. They were pushed away without considering all the work they’ve done until then. They were bashed… They were such courteous people…

The comments were cruel. It was like spitting and telling them to get lost after all the effort they put into. I removed any affection I had towards DNBN after seeing those comments.

Really…it’s…

And after that, suggestions started to come up to abandon the ‘org’ address and to move the address and server. Then, someone suddenly comes on to the scene. Sayuri, the current head administrator of DNBN, came out of nowhere. She said that she purchased ‘www.dnbn.pe.kr’ domain name and will begin the moving process. The members agreed to it.

I found that laughable and ridiculous. I mean, those foolish members with bird’s brain didn’t even question the situation where someone who was never seen or heard before suddenly comes out with a domain already purchased like it was already planned.
Really those… dumbasses.

I guess since she disclosed her personal info whether it was true or not, those foolish members probably trusted it at its face value.

Well~ after that, as all of you know, those who participated/instigated in manipulating members’ opinions volunteered for the staff/admin positions. Maybe one in hundred former admins applied for the positions.
Who were the most of the applicants for the staff/admins? Who else? It’s those aunties frantically trying to grab a position.

That’s why I am so sick of DNBN and Akadong. You think Akadong is any different? People who are “prominent” at DNBN are mostly from Akadong, and they’re the ones who broke into DNBN and ruined the site.

One thing I want to say, there’s no use separating Akadong and DNBN
DNBN = Akadong, simple as that.

Well, was my post too long to get to this simple conclusion? I’ll end the post now. Just consider it my grumblings.

Here's the summary of the above post: the rumors were rampant at DNBN, and one of the admin posted some kind of announcement to control the situation. Akadong members infiltrated DNBN and used the admin's announcement as an excuse to kick out the existing admins and took over DNBN then moved the domain and server to the current location.

So that's how DNBN was taken over, and how they became a CJS fan site.

I'm sure the readers have many questions now. What was the announcement the original admin made that caused her to get bashed from the members, leading to her resignation along with other admins? Are there any proof that Akadong members manipulated DNBN? What happened to the old domain? Wasn't DNBN supporting all 5 at least until Yunho and Changmin decided to come back as TVXQ, prompting them to change their stance?

Introduction - the Fan Sites

So by now, the readers should know why the 3 ex-members of TVXQ filed the lawsuit against SM to void their contracts, and where all those false information and the rumors blaming Yunho and Changmin for the breakup originated from, the 6.25 meeting. However, the 6.25 meeting alone does not quite explain how those rumors spread so widely among fans, and how all those one-sided information seeped deeply into the fandom. By the time CJS got the injunction judgment, temporarily freeing them from SM, the fans' opinion and even the general public's opinion was overwhelmingly in support of CJS. The support was extremely one-sided in such whn Yunho, Changmin, and their parents released signed statements expressing their stance, they were buried and ignored, and instead of their statements being heard by the fans, Yunho and Changmin were bashed viciously for not supporting the 3.

So what happened to the fans? How could they so blindly believe the lies without even verifying if they were legit?

We all know that CJS's individual fan site admins must've had a hand in that after participating in the 6.25 meeting, but it's hard to imagine that they could convince rest of the fans, especially the "All Fans" 올팬 (Korean term for the fans that support all 5, same as OT5. These days, Korean TVXQ fans define "All Fans" as the fans that support all the members of TVXQ: Yunho and Changmin, but the term is still used both ways depending who you talk to.)

It's understandable that fans biased towards CJS to believe those lies, but what about OT5's and Yunho, Changmin's fans?

That's where the role of major fan sites come in, especially the fan site that used to be the biggest and the most well known fan site of TVXQ, DNBN.

As most of the readers know already, DNBN was waving the OT5 flag on the surface until they officially announced their support of the 3, but they never actually supported Yunho and Changmin. So what happened to it? How can a prominent fan site that was active in supporting all 5 turned into a JYJ fan site so suddenly?

In this chapter about fan sites, I will talk about DNBN, and also talk about few other sites including the sites that support Yunho and Changmin.

Conclusion of 6.25 - Why I started this blog Part II

I guess it's only fitting to conclude the chapter on 6.25 meeting today, exactly 2 years after the meeting was held.

The readers may remember that my very first post on this blog was brief explanation on why I decided to start blogging about TVXQ.

I wrote that I wasn't a die-hard fan of any K-pop artist, and as matter fact, I love rock music, specifically Heavy Metal/Classic Rock. (Metallica!!!) But I do listen to other kind of music, and I love listening to K-Pop and respect the artists' ability to perform complicated dance routines while singing.

Some of you may be wondering why is a person who's not even a fan running this blog, spending so much time and energy? Here's why and how I got into this.

As I said in my first post, I knew something wasn't right when TVXQ broke up with only 3 members filing the lawsuit instead of all 5 which prompted me to check out the contract, and reading the contract was as far as I got regarding the matter. I wasn't really a fan of TVXQ, and I just checked out the contract to see how K-Pop artists' contract was structured out of curiosity. After I read it, I knew the contract was actually pretty good except for a couple clauses as I stated in my entry about the contract, and it was definitely not a "slave" contract and not bad enough to break up the band. I didn't really care too much about the lawsuit since I wasn't a fan. I'm into sports as other men are, and contract disputes over money happen every day. You see athletes with huge contract fighting for more money, so I just assumed it was over money and left it at that.

I think it was around October of 2010. I was surfing YouTube, checking out some music videos, and happened to watch TVXQ's "Mirotic" video. I noticed that there were some comments from users bashing SM for their "slave" contract, but they were using wrong info based on what was spreading around in many fan sites at that time. I started to comment about the contract trying to correct the mistake, and got into a heated debate with a Junsu's fan. I knew my info was the correct one since I read it from the source, but she could not be convinced and claimed that the contract I read was a fake (really?). I even told her I read it in Korean, but it was no use. She didn't even believe I was a Korean. Then she started throwing other stuff at me which I had no idea about, so I started doing more research into the matter. I have read articles from many English sites and Korean sites, and read both sides of the argument. That was when I realized that many international fans only had access to limited information, twisted and manipulated ones at that.

What I didn't understand was that many of them were claiming they were fans of all 5, but bashing SM at the same time that didn't make sense at all. If you really support Yunho and Changmin, how can you bash a company they chose to stay and work with? It's really a simple logic, and I commented many times about the fallacy of it, but most people just didn't get it and refused to admit it.

Anyways, I kept going back to that video, and got into many debates (argument, fight, whatever you want to call it) mostly with the same group of people (JYJ fans), and as I was going through it, I started to gain more knowledge. I had an advantage because of my Korean skills, and I was getting information that they never heard of, and eventually they couldn't argue with me any more and started making personal attacks and put a "Pro-SM" label on me.

That was when I found out about the 6.25 meeting and learned that all these lies and deceit were not accidental, but rather planned and systematically spread. I actively started to defend Yunho and Changmin on various threads (youtube, allkpop, blogs etc.) because I felt it was so unfair and unjust for two young men, who did nothing but the right thing, to be bashed relentlessly by many biased, clueless fans. As I found out more about the two, I began to gain tremendous respect towards them. In my opinion, they've handled the situation exceptionally well despite the emotional toll they must've endured, being framed by their close friends and their career almost ruined.

As I was getting involved in the debates, I was also getting questions from others who wanted to learn more about what I knew. It was getting frustrating because there was only so much I could provide, and there wasn't any international site available that I could direct them to. I found myself saying the same thing repeatedly, just to different people.

So I began to think that my time would be better utilized if I made a blog instead of repeating same info over and over, but I was hesitant to do it because I knew it would take a lot of effort and time considering the vast amount of documents and information that needed to be translated.

It was soon announced that TVXQ would come back with Yunho and Changmin. I thought that their comeback would calm everything down by making the fans to just support their respective band, and eventually two sides will just go separate ways. CJS themselves gave indications every chance they had that they were over with TVXQ and quite happy with their career as JYJ.

Then the tweets started coming and the attacks by the fans.

I realized that there was no end in sight, and here I am, typing this post, running this blog.

So please thank that Junsu's fan, because without her, TrueTVXQ blog wouldn't exist.

Why did they need the 6.25 meeting?

So let's talk about the 6.25 meeting. Why did they hold it in the first place? Why did the 3 and/or their parents felt the need to spread the lies, blaming the breakup on HoMin and SM? Couldn't they just file the lawsuit, start their career as JYJ while running the cosmetics business? Why was it necessary to ruin 2 men's career and the reputation of a company who worked to make TVXQ together?

If you recall, the conclusion article I wrote for the cosmetics business ended with this paragraph:

"Now the final question. Even with the money making potential the cosmetics business presented, TVXQ also had big potential to make more money since they were just starting to get really big in Japan and Asia, so why would CJS risk breaking the group by filing the lawsuit? Was the cosmetics business that big that CJS would give up TVXQ? That would be answered in my future posts."

The answer to the above questions? The 6.25 meeting.

They not only wanted to continue the cosmetics business, but they also weren't willing to give up TVXQ. More accurately, they didn't want to give up TVXQ's earning power. We know that they didn't care about the TVXQ name itself from the way they ran their cosmetics business, throwing TVXQ around everywhere, so it had to be the money.

It is not that hard to see that they'd lose the fans' support if the real cause of them leaving SM was known to the fans, and many fans would've left them. Just read the 6.25 transcript again, and you can clearly see the purpose of the meeting. The topics that were discussed the most in that meeting were Crebeau, HoMin taking SM's bait and changing their mind, bad contract, and the 3's intentions of keeping TVXQ together, and to keep TVXQ, HoMin had to leave SM with them. The meeting was held to hide the real reason for the breakup, shift the blame on HoMin, and appeal to the fans that they want to keep TVXQ together (reason for their fans preaching AKTF nonsense even now). By painting themselves as victims, they earned the fans' sympathy, making them unite in their support.
How well did it work? Exceptionally well as we all know. The 3 had fans' full support in everything they did. Fans supported them while the 3 accepted MNet's award without the 2 when the date was originally scheduled for a TVXQ concert in China. Tokyo dome? A-Nation? CJS' fan meeting right after cancelling the TVXQ fan meeting? Not even a question. Having dedicated fans who'd do anything to protect their "oppas" at any cost helped too. As most readers know, the effect of 6.25 meeting is still felt even today. There are fans who still believe and spread the lies that were created in that meeting 2 years ago.

As matter of fact, the fans are one of the biggest victims in this. I have read many fan accounts from the fans who initially supported CJS who later found out the truth, and had to go through painful process of healing to get over the shock and disappointment over the artist who they supported with all their heart. I'm sure many readers here can relate to that.

I wouldn't care if they just split for money. It happens to other bands, and they aren't the first and they won't be the last, but holding a secret meeting to frame the members they used to call "brothers"? Unforgivable. And it is still going on even now.

It was a huge blessing for Yunho and Changmin that 6.25 recording became available to the public. The tide started to turn once the file became widely available. The non fans' public opinions was initially supporting the 3, but after listening to the recording, their opinions changed and the support towards Yunho and Changmin started to grow.

Another effect of 6.25 meeting was that it solidified TVXQ's breakup. The 3 didn't need to make any kind of settlement with SM and go back to the company since they had the fans' overwhelming support. Just look at what happened with Kara who were in a very similar situation as TVXQ. The difference was that there was no 6.25 meeting, and the fans did not support the 3 like they did for CJS. Kara's 3 members eventually settled their differences with the company and came back, and they are working together again.

That's exactly what needed to be done with TVXQ to prevent the breakup, and if you recall Forever's post, that's precisely what she was pleading the fans to do, but to no avail.

There are positives that we got out of this whole saga. The fans finally got to see what Yunho and Changmin are capable of on their own, and their hidden talents are in full display for others to see. By going through this adversity, the 2 came back much stronger and with determination, and it shows in their performances. Also, the fans really found out the true colors of each members. I personally do not put too much weight on the image of the entertainers displayed to the public because I am aware that their persona are mostly manufactured by those around them, which I also do not mind. It's not like I'm going to have a personal relationship with those entertainers, so as long as I like what they bring to the table, I'm ok with it and don't really care how their real life is.

But as I got to learn more about Yunho and Changmin, I could see that those two men are genuinely great people, and they have earned tremendous respect from me the way they handled this crisis. That was another reason for me to start this blog.

Am I a fan of TVXQ now? Yes, you can say that. I support Yunho and Changmin as a person. Their music and performances aren't bad either. :)

So that about concludes the chapter on 6.25 meeting. That is the whole reason I support Yunho and Changmin, and the real reason I am making effort to spread the truth.

There was a 6.23 meeting?

You've all heard about it: The 6.23 meeting. It's the meeting that was supposedly held by people from HoMin's side to spread malicious rumors against CJS. As was the case with Forever, does anyone know exactly what the meeting was about? Is there any proof that the meeting ever happened?
We know exactly what the 6.25 meeting was about because there is a definite proof, the voice recording. We know who were the participants, what was talked about, and what happened afterward. Also, accurate and consistent details of the 6.25 meeting were known among the fans even before the recording was widely spread, but nothing was known about the 6.23 meeting. Even the "World famous but no one ever read until posted on this blog" Forever article posted on June 26th had the details of 6.25 meeting, but the 6.23 meeting? Nothing.

It's been almost 2 years since June 2009, but no one seems to know exactly what that meeting was about. Some say Yunho's father held the meeting, some say it's someone from SM, or others say (gulp!) it was Forever who started spreading the rumors since June 23, 2009. The claims are all over the place and no one seems to know exactly what the meeting was about. Those accusers cannot even agree on the exact date because some claims the meeting was on June 24th.

The readers of this blog who's been following this "saga" should recognize the pattern by now. The inconsistency of those claims leads to the predictable conclusion: ANOTHER FABRICATED LIE.

The reason for making up the 6.23 meeting is obvious: to justify the 6.25 meeting. Ironically, the origin and the most used proof for the 6.23 meeting is from the 6.25 meeting itself. It was Jaejoong's sister who said that "Some parents already had a meeting like this and caused the 3 to be criticized. [6.25 recording File 3 @ 0:53]"

People who trust blindly what's said in the 6.25 meeting use her statement as the proof, and also that is the reason why 6.23 meeting needed to be fabricated since Jaejoong's sister would be lying if the meeting didn't happen.

Ok, so let's assume 6.25 meeting was held because of a meeting on June 23rd. According to the dialogues from the 6.25 meeting, CJS's parents were holding the meeting in response to the rumors spread from the meeting some parents already had. Are we to believe that the rumors spread so fast, CJS who at the time weren't even in Korea heard them and got so worried that they called the parents in less than 2 days to hold a meeting in response? According to Jaejoong's sister, the meeting by "some parents" had such an impact that all the blame for the breakup was pointed at the 3, and the 3 were having such a hard time and felt like dying all within a span of less than 2 days [File 3 @ 0:55]. It just doesn't fit.

Also let's not forget that CJS sent the notice to SM on June 24th to void the contract which shows that the move was planned for some time. In this news article (http://star.mt.co.kr/view/stview.php?no=2009073123161889504&outli-nk=2&SVEC) published on July 31, 2009, the CJS law firm Sejong states that they have been in contact with CJS for at least 2 months so they've been getting legal consulting since early June.

I guess it makes perfect sense for some people, but I'd at least give about a week and say that there was a 6.18 meeting or something instead of just 2 days. Also the fact that CJS' parents and SM had an argument in June 6th (stated by CJS and HoMin's parents) and there were whispers of some members visiting Sejong Law Firm, the 6.25 meeting seems to be well planned ahead, not because of some phantom meeting in June 23.

Also don't forget that even if we assume there was a meeting in June 23 from HoMin's side, it still doesn't justify 6.25 meeting that were full of lies and was held to frame HoMin for the breakup with reasons that were proven to be false. The lies about 6.23 meeting was spread to divert the fans' attention from the real issues of the 6.25 meeting.

Anyways, there's absolutely no proof that there was an actual meeting that took place, let alone it was held by HoMin's side personnel. We know 6.25 meeting was held in Kangnam Baptist Church, but there's no information where the 6.23 meeting was held. The only thing that resembles as some proofs are some screencaps of chat sessions and some PM's to claim that there were some Yunho's fans spreading rumors. I don't think any of the international fans actually saw those screencaps, so here they are with the translation.

It looks like the English article explaining about Forever and the 6.23 got most of the information from that blog and simply translated and re-arranged the articles from that blog.

They claim that the above two posts are "Forever-esque" rumors spread by HoMin fans. I guess you can call those rumors, but as we all know now, they were all proven to be true, and besides, Forever's article don't have a single word about the cosmetics business so I don't see how those posts could be considered "Forever-esque".

Above post seems to show that the fan knew about the breakup being caused by the cosmetics business. The above blogger says that the talk of Junsu's unit activity was spreading since fall of 2008, and also other member's individual activities were planned as well. BTW, can you guess what Junsu's unit activity was going to be? "S.M. The Ballad" anyone? Obviously, Junsu threw it away and managed to derail others' activities at the same time. SMTB was originally planned for fall of 2009 according to that blogger. The above blog also proves that HoMin were not the only ones who had plans of individual activities, and the plans were already known to the fans, so it totally disproves that HoMin stayed in SM because of the lure of individual activities.

Now let's look at other evidences that claim to link Yunho's individual fans with 6.23.

Here's a PM from a Yunho's fan, calling for a chat session with other Yunho's fans.

Hi, I don't know if you know me. I am Paul***, a Yunho's fan who uploads Yunho's material time to time on Soul Dresser. ^^;;; I'm sending the PM urgently to Yunho's fans on Soul Dresser because I have something to tell you. I'm going to open up a chatting session around 10pm. It'll take around 30 minutes to an hour, I wanna know if it's possible for you to join. I'm going to talk about something really important, so I'd like Yunho's fans to participate. Soul Dresser Chatting room at 10PM. Title is 1234, and the password is 0206.

I guess they had a chatting session after the PM was sent to Yunho's fans. Here's a text file of that chatting session. It's not even a screencap but just a text file which can be manipulated easily, but they're using it as an evidence regardless. Here it is anyways.

The session's really long, so I'm just going to summarize it.
The person who requested the meeting (Paul***) says that she (I assume the user is a female) heard from Yuchun's fan that CJS will leave the team around middle of July because of Crebeau, basically for money. One of the participant already knew about some members visiting Sejong Law Firm (one who's defending CJS in this lawsuit), and Paul thinks CJS got assurances from Sejong that they can win the case. She says that CJS will use excessive work and the slave contract for justification. Then they go on to talk about other things related to the news. There's some criticizing/bashing of CJS for leaving the band for the cosmetics and Junsu's parents for getting involved too much, but those kind of responses were to be expected from fans who are talking about CJS breaking up TVXQ for Crebeau. Basically, it's just a typical chatting session among individual fans after hearing shocking news of the breakup, and also most of the things talked about during that session became true as well.

Now here's another evidence they present. It's a screencap of a chatting session between a Yunho's fansite admin and Junsu's fansite admin.

I'll use Y for Yunho's admin, and J for Junsu's.

Here's the translation.

Y: Is it true that TVXQ is breaking up?
J: No
Y: There's saying that Junsu's side is signing with CJ.
J: I think it's just a rumor.
Y: I heard that Junsu's father said it...

J: I'll ask (Junsu's father) tomorrow.
Y: Ok.
J: It does look like they're not getting along.
Y: I don't think it's just not getting along. It looks like they're split into 3:2.

That screencap was initially spread by Junsu's fansite admin with the last digit of the date erased to make it appear the conversations took long before the actual date (June 24) to claim Yunho's fansite admin was spreading rumors well ahead, but later was debunked with full screencap showing the actual date by the justifiably upset Yunho's admin.

OK, so I've translated many so called "evidences" presented by 6.23 advocates, but the only thing they show is that the fans were aware of problems with Crebeau, and they heard rumors that TVXQ was going to break up because of the business. I guess you can call those "rumors", but everything happened according to those "rumors" eventually. If you listen to the 6.25 meeting, it's obvious CJS' fans knew about those rumors as well since CJS' parents spent most of the meeting giving excuses about Crebeau so there really isn't any proof that those rumors were started by HoMin's side. It wasn't a secret that CJS were involved in Crebeau. They were already doing business and opening up stores everywhere. The fancam of CJS' participation in Crebeau's business presentation in January was already available. Fans already knew about the members visiting the law firm too, so it probably wasn't really difficult to figure out that something was going on.

So was there a 6.23 meeting? No. There's no voice recording, not even a transcript nor the place it was held. 6.23 meeting was fabricated with few screencaps of fan interactions to justify the 6.25 meeting. It's really unbelievable that some people do not hesitate to accuse HoMin's parents and/or even HoMin themselves for holding some kind of meeting with those so called "evidences" which don't prove anything. It would be understandable if 6.25 meeting was held to just talk about those so called rumors, but the fact is that 3 guardians of CJS held a meeting and actually told LIES to put all the blame for the TVXQ's breakup on HoMin, and directed the participants of the meeting to spread those lies.

P.S. I'd like to apologize to the readers of this blog for taking so long posting updates. As I said in the comments, I've been really busy lately, but I should be able to post more often now. At least TVXQ has been doing really well with their new commercials and Yunho's Kiss and Cry reality show.

Who is "Forever"? Part II - Analysis of "Forever" posting

So here is the big question that everyone was asking:

"Who is Forever?"

Well, sorry to disappoint you, but the answer is: I don't know.

I know many of you were expecting me to tell you more about the person in detail, and I apologize for raising your expectations, but that's just how it is. The only information I or anyone else have that's directly linked to Forever is that one article posted on June 26, 2009, and that is it. Nothing else, Nada, Zilch. The blog at egloos.com is still there, but there's no post, and even that famous posting was deleted.

Then why are some people making such a big deal about her? Why some people claim that they know who she is, and what are the evidences or reasoning behind their claims?

I do not know who Forever is, but I am going to explain why "Forever" was made to be so big, and that was the whole purpose of the series of articles about "Forever".

First, here's my take on the Forever's article.

I. Analysis of "the Article"

I've noticed from the comments posted on the first article that everyone had somewhat different view about the article and who Forever might be, which is understandable since the article doesn't say anything about the poster herself.

Many of you probably read articles explaining about Forever elsewhere or heard someone else's claim who Forever might be, and it probably influenced you to form certain opinions about her without even realizing it, but I read Forever's article before reading any other explanation about her, and the first impression I got was that Forever was a fan of TVXQ. Remember, there was no HoMin fan, JYJ fan or OT5 fan during that time. There were only TVXQ fans and individual fans, and she was definitely a TVXQ fan.

As we all know, majority of TVXQ fans are female, someone we all know quoted 3.25% of TVXQ fans are men, so if I had to bet my money on it, Forever is most likely a female.

In her article, she is clearly talking about the plots and rumors generated from the 6.25 meeting. It is highly possible that she was actually in the meeting with other ChunJaeSu's fansite admins because of her detailed knowledge of the rumors and the plots from the meeting to frame HoMin for the breakup of TVXQ so it appears that she was rather close to the CJS fans.

I'm assuming that she did not address any of the members or their parents directly to avoid implicating them, but she is clearly sending her message to those CJS fans who are spreading and fabricating the rumors and also to the fans who are being swayed by those rumors. As you've all seen from my "CJS fans in action part I and II" article, more rumors were already fabricated by some fans right after the 6.25 meeting, and there were new rumors in the Forever's post as well so I think there's a good chance that she witnessed the scene of generating new rumors as well. It almost feel like she's actually from CJS' side who figured out what was going on and knew what was right thing to do for TVXQ.

To summarize her post, she was asking the fans to stop spreading rumors and justifying CJS leaving the band, and warned the fans that it will eventually lead to TVXQ's breakup which unfortunately was exactly how it happened. One thing she did get wrong was about Avex. Contrary to Forever's belief, Avex ended up signing the 3 separately and suspended TVXQ's activities in Japan.

So if that single post was the only evidence available about Forever, then where did all those wild claims about her came from and why?

II. Claims about Forever

There were many things said about Forever, but don't you think it's strange that none of those claims are actually backed by any proofs or evidences directly linked to Forever? All those people with claims about Forever are just listing some events that happened around June 25, then just flat out states that those events are started by Forever without backing up their claims, and most of those events are nothing more than some rumors and screen caps of chatting sessions/PM's.

So let's go over those proofs that are supposed to be supporting their claims.

Claim: Forever's post contains "insider" knowledge

Without showing the actual article, the Forever accusers claim that she had knowledge of information only the insiders know. They claim the 13 year contract and plans for overseas activities were inside info, but many fans already knew of those. Remember the resolution the parents signed in 2004? The resolution did mention about the overseas plans and the length of the contract, so any knowledgeable fan who followed TVXQ closely should know about them. How about the information about Avex owning 20% share of SM Entertainment? SM is a public company, and it's pretty easy to get that information as well. If you think about it, if I didn't provide the sources on any of my posts, many of you would've thought I was an insider too. Oh wait, I'm still considered an insider by some despite providing links to my sources.

* Forever was the mastermind behind the rumors including Crebeau

This claim is totally baseless. People claim that Forever was behind spreading info about Crebeau, but there's not a single word about Crebeau or cosmetics in Forever's article. They bring up some personal messages and chatting records as proofs, but there's absolutely nothing that shows those are related to Forever. Also, it wasn't a secret that the 3 were involved in the cosmetics, and there were already rumors about the breakup because of Crebeau. Other rumors mentioned are not in Forever's post either, so their claims are totally baseless. Now you know why they never show the actual article.

* Forever's post was preplanned by Forever and Yunho's fans to be spread

This is another accusation about her Post that does not really make sense. They are saying her post was planned ahead for Yunho's fan page admins to grab it as soon as it was posted to be spread around. Their reasoning is that because any new article posted on the egloos.com doesn't get searched for the first 24 hours, Yunho's fans must have been waiting for the article to be posted with prior knowledge about it. It is a true that the first blogger who saw the article got it 13 minutes after the original article was posted and because of that, she was as the "the woman of 13 minutes." That fan's blog is still active, and here's her explanation of how she managed to copy Forever's post in such a short time from a blog site that does not have a search function for new posts. Here's the link to her blog with the entry explaining about what happened.

This is the summary of her explanation.
"Egloos.com has a function that displays most recent entries in real time, and she happened to see Forever's post after lunch while glancing through Egloos. She already saw some posts bashing Yunho early morning, and she noticed Forever's post right away so she moved the post to her blog."

I read the comments from the above post, and some antis were calling her "Forever" or Yunho. It's laughable that they call anyone who make posts that opposes CJS "Forever".

After she posted the article, many Yunho fans, who were already on alert because of the rumors already spreading from the 6.25 meeting, copied the post on their blog, and that's how the "legend of Forever" was born.

III. Reason for exaggerating Forever

Everyone who read Forever's post can see that she didn't mean any harm or include any malicious rumors in her post contrary to many claims, then why are some people making such a big deal out of her even after over 1 1/2 years? Even if you don't agree with her post, it's just a single post from a blogger, so why so much exaggeration?

My guess is that in the beginning, they needed a common enemy, a target. By working up this mystical "Forever" figure who's supposedly a mastermind working behind the scenes to harm their "oppas", they could get the CJS' supporters to unite to fight against the "evil" force and instill axiety that their idols are being attacked. This is actually a pretty common strategy used everywhere. By making a real or imaginary goal, people will act in unison, more effectively.

Time to time I meet some people who claims that the truth will be revealed once they catch Forever, and most of them don't even know anything about her post itself. First of all, it's been over 1 1/2 years since that post, and if they were going to find her, they probably did already considering how good at some people are at finding people's personal info. But even if they do find her, what is going to be revealed? Is she going to tell that 6.25 meeting happened or rumors were fabricated to blame HoMin? But we already have the voice recording of the meeting and know everything that's posted by Forever and more. Maybe they are going to sue her for defamation, but I have no clue what good she is going to be for them even if they find her. It should be TVXQ fans that should be looking for her since she was most likely a whistle-blower from CJS side. Maybe she can tell us who the actual participants of the 6.25 meeting are, so I personally want to see her found too.

These days, most people are using Forever to justify the 6.25 meeting. They claim (again without any proof) that she masterminded spreading of malicious rumors starting in 6.23, thus forcing the parents of CJS to hold the 6.25 meeting, and that's what I am going to write about next.

It looks like many readers are interested in the latest court session, so here is the translation of the transcript. I'll continue with "Forever" after this.

This is the summarized transcript of the trial posted on the TVXQ fan site 2Paradise by its member that attended the trial session. The court session lasted for about 2 hours so this summarized version was posted first while she is working on the full version with more details.

Q) What is the reason the revenue is settled every 6 months?

- Entertainers generate income inconsistently depending on the level of activities; therefore, monthly accounting settlement is meaningless.

Q) Are there cases where accounting is settled monthly?

- Some Actors/Actresses and entertainers that does not work overseas sometimes settle accounts at the end of every month. Especially if (the entertainer) pays for all the operating costs, you only need to distribute the profit with the company, so in that case accounting is done monthly.

Q) Any complaints from the entertainers about 6-month term settlement?

- No. The 3 didn’t have any (complaints).
- The meetings for the account settlement held periodically were attended by the entertainers, parents, for minor entertainers surely the parents, finance director of SM, accounting officer Yoon Sung Hee etc, and the Contract terms, comparing revenue and expenses, and advances were gone over on the spot. Also, the entertainer’s signature is obtained after the verification process.

- SM is a company listed on Kosdaq and audited regularly by outside agency, which includes account settlement of the entertainers.

Q) There is a claim that 100% of TVXQ’s operating costs are paid by the members, is it true?

-No, that never happened. All the operating expenses are either shared half & half between the entertainers and the company or the company pays 100%.

Q) When do they get an advance?

- They get an advance for personal reasons not related to the entertainment activities.

Q) In case of the 3?

- Tax, Insurance, Education, Housing purchase etc.
- The 3 got the advance frequently.

Q) The amount of the 3’s advances in 2009 – Park Yuchun: 490 million/ Kim Junsu: 470 Million/ Kim Jaejoong: 220 million – totals about 1.2 billion, does the company gives advance every time it was requested?

- The rule is not set that way, but most requests are granted to keep a good relationship with the celebrities.

Q) When large amounts like 100 – 200 millions are requested, how do you finance the funds? Are those always prepared in advance?

- No they're not, so sometimes it is difficult.

Q) Doesn’t this big advance amount become issues during audits?

- Sometimes it does become a problem. Advance is a type of loan, and interest needs to be collected. For regular employees, they pay interest for the advance they received, but for the singers, even though the amount is comparably much larger, we pay them as advanced payment, so we don’t collect interests, and it does get noticed during every audit.

Q) Did the 3 get an advance again in 2010? If they did, what was the purpose?

- Yes. It was paid for the health insurance, citation for the personal vehicle and etc., so the company took care of it at the time.

Q) Preparation costs for TV appearances, for example, dance practice costs, how are they calculated?

- Practice costs for promotional appearance where there are no appearance fees are paid by SM, but the costs for the events or broadcasts with appearance fees are shared between SM and the members.

Q) Albums released in Japan that are imported to Korea, don’t they apply as album sales income?

- Licensed Japanese albums are applied as royalty.

Q) Those are albums like any other albums, so 10% of the album sales need to be paid, does it not?

- Domestic albums are direct production of SM, but albums released in Japan are not sold directly by SM. The album sales in Japan are paid as royalties according to the contract.

Q) The 4th album Mirotic sold about 460,000 and SM accounting team forecasted the sales to be 480,000 and paid them accordingly. But actually, it sold about 500,000 in total. For what reason was it forecasted as 480,000? Could it be because of the clause that additional payment of 50 million KRW once the sale exceeds 500,000? In other words, is it done to avoid paying 50 million KRW?

- The accounting is settled after the album was sold for 2-3 months and adding 20,000 sales for future sales. Therefore, 480,000 sales is calculated by adding estimated 10,000 plus some thousands randomly just for the convenience of calculation. If more than the estimated numbers are sold at later times, additional amount is paid. We handle other entertainers are like this too.
Also, payment of 50 million KRW cannot be made because the 3 did not participate in the production of the subsequent album.

Q) Production cost of albums is paid 100% by SM, what are those?

- Album covers, recording, song royalties, choreography, music video production etc.

Q) But according to the accounting, music video production, new songs choreography, showcase costs are listed as members’ cost, why is that?

- Costs submitted from the production department are applied as production cost, and the costs submitted from the activity management department are applied as cost of activities.
Management department probably determined music videos are cost of activities for the broadcasting and submitted accordingly, so we settled accounting based on those.

Q) In addition to the food expenses, staffs and bodyguards working together, housing maintenance expenses, and even expenses to hire maids are included as the members’ expenses, aren’t they supposed to be paid 100% by the company?

- According to the contract, those costs are shared as the cost of operation.

Q) 70% of the revenue earned in Japan minus taxes are paid to the members, but the income tax paid in Japan are returned after getting deduction in Korea, then those deductions should be considered as income, and isn’t 70% of that need to be paid to the members?

- When the company generates profit, it needs to pay the income tax again besides the reduction. In case of the revenue, the tax needs to be deducted in Korea just like in Japan, but we’re not paying in Korea because it was already paid in Japan, so that part cannot be considered as profit.

Q) The witness said that it’s natural for the members to get paid small amount because of the advance they took out, but when you look at the details of the advance Park Yuchun took out in 2008 for the amount of 220million, most of them are tax, health insurance and vehicle tax, isn’t it just advanced payment of the taxes that the individual must pay?

A) Each department has separate expense forms. The colors of forms are different, so that’s how we identify them.

Q) Food, hiring overseas bodyguard, lodging management, and maid expenses are shared (between members and company) as cost of operation according to the exclusive contract, is it correct?

-Yes

Q) But even though it’s specified that way on paper, but in reality, the company paid for everything according to the final expense report generated during account settlement. Is that information correct?

Q) Does overseas royalty applies only in Japan?

Who is "Forever"? Part I - Translation of Forever's article

Finally a new post. Sorry for taking so long. I was busy for a while. :)

Most of the readers of this blog probably heard the name "Forever", but I'm fairly certain most people do not have much clue who that is. There are many rumors and claims who this "Forever" is, but no one knows for sure and none of those claims are backed by any solid proofs. Have you wondered why?

Before explaining who "Forever" is, I am going to present one "fact" about Forever.

Forever is the username used by a blogger from a Korean blog site "egloos.com", and the blogger posted an article on June 26, 2009 at 1:00 PM, one day after the infamous 6.25 meeting. The blogger became a sensation just because of that single post. Before I write any further, here's the translation of that famous post followed by the screenshot of the original article and the text in Korean. On my next post, I will explain about Forever's article and this whole "Forever" phenomenon.

I suggest you to read the translation and try to figure out who this "Forever" really is. :)

They claim that at least the poor 3 members need to leave such a bad company with so many problems, and the two members that decided against leaving are clearly traitors.

Well, I've been writing upsetting posts, so I am going to post something good.

This is a video made by a fan for Changmin's birthday. The video was played at his birthday party with the fans. I heard that Changmin was really moved by this video.

This is to remind the readers that there are many KCassies who supported HoMin throughout this ordeal while enduring extreme difficulties and fighting endlessly against the rumors and bashings. There are also many CJS fans who became TVXQ fans after finding out the truth. They are the true heroines who stood by HoMin and fought against the antis while searching for the truth.

Many evidences and facts were collected and researched by those fans, and without them, this blog won't exist.

The story is told by subtitles without any voice, so it will be really easy to follow my translation. Just go to the next line when the subtitle changes. I put timestamps too, but it won't be hard to follow. The translations in parenthesis are dialogues in the pictures. How Yunho and Changmin were bashed

My previous two posts showed how the rumors were spread systematically by some CJS fans following the "directives" they received from the 6.25 meeting. It may be hard to believe that such things could happen, but then again, everyone reading my blog saw it first hand that it's still done today.

As soon as I posted the translation of the 6.25 meeting, it was taken without my permission, then a "summary" was added to hide the parts of the translation that some didn't want people to read, and the new masked version of the translation was all over the internet the next day. Also, as soon as an article or a news that's advantageous to CJS is released back in Korea, it spreads like a wildfire the next day to international fans. Readers have all seen it happening. Compared to that, any news article that helps HoMin or SM never gets any coverage especially to the international fans. The fact that the full version of HoMin and their parents' statements weren't available for over a year until they were posted on my blog is a good example. It's funny that people are accusing SM of spreading rumors when in reality it's exactly the opposite.

So how did their "operations" to spread the rumors work? Very well indeed.
You've all seen the same rumors spread from the meeting repeated over and over today among international fans. Some people still use the "9:1 profit share" even after the real contract was released. Obviously "facts" are not important to some as long as the info can be used to justify CJS's action whether it's true or not.

While the rumors were spreading on the blogs and forums, many fan sites were taken over by the fans supporting CJS including DNBN. I'll post a detailed account of what happened to that site, but the short version is that the original administrators were kicked out, and new admins and mods took over the site. On the surface, they claimed to support all 5, but in reality, they only supported CJS while ignoring HoMin.

Once the fan sites were taken over, it was all downhill for HoMin and their fans. Only the rumors created from the 6.25 meeting were supported as the truth, and any opinions against those were largely ignored. Any posts not suited for their agenda were deleted or ignored, and the members who posted such opinions or info were given warnings or banned. Even some HoMin fans blamed HoMin for the breakup and not leaving SM with CJS.

Remember, there weren't any evidences or facts available at that time like today, so it was hard to refute those rumors, and the fans believed them especially since fan site admins forced them to the members. The 6.25 meeting was known to some people immediately after it happened, but the actual voice file wasn't widely spread until later in the year, so CJS fans simply denied the existence of the meeting. Without any proof, there was no way to convince any fans. Those people even twist and misrepresent obvious facts, so you can imagine how a claim without solid proof would've been treated. The existence of the 6.25 meeting was also denied by international fans until I released the translation, and as soon as that happened, their strategy suddenly shifted to discrediting it as it meant nothing serious just like how it happened back in Korea.

Meanwhile, the injunction to void the contract was filed on July 31st, and all the blame for the TVXQ's breakup was solely put on HoMin for betraying CJS instead of joining the lawsuit together. Bashing HoMin and SM started to intensify from that moment, and peaked when they released the official statements.

The judgment for the injunction was given on Oct 27, 2009 allowing CJS's individual activities, and on Nov 2, 2009, HoMin and their parents released statements urging CJS to come back to keep TVXQ, and stated their position regarding the cosmetics business.

Obviously, HoMin and their fathers were pleading to the fans hoping they'd listen, but their plea was completely ignored by the fans. Instead, the bashing increased exponentially and went out of control that resulted in the infamous 3000, 5000 replies. (삼천플, 오천플) There were thousands of replies bashing HoMin viciously. I'm just going to translate part of the replies (for an obvious reason).

International fans are in a way lucky that you can't read them. There are some horrible things said to HoMin and their families in those replies. Just look at the sheer number of the pages from above link, and believe it or not, those are just part of it.

That was just a small sample of 5000 replies. There were also replies about hitting them with rocks to kill them, taunting Yunho's families' background in legal fields etc. Any reason that could be used to bash them, it was used. Those thousands of replies were all on a single post, so you can easily guess how severe the bashing got.

HoMin were labeled as "Jung, the icon of betrayal" (정윤호 배신의 아이콘), and "Shim, the icon of bystander" (심창민 방관의 아이콘) from those replies, and antis still call them those names until today.

While all this was happening, what did CJS do? Nothing. Actually, towards the end of the month, CJS appeared on MNet's MAMA award, and accepted the "Best Asian Star" award as TVXQ. I don't know if the readers know the background, but SM was boycotting MAMA at that time, so CJS appearing on MAMA was a definite in your face move towards SM.

During the acceptance speech, Jaejoong made this famous comment, "I'd like to tell the two friends who may be watching this that I love them."

Guess what happened to HoMin after he made that speech? CJS's fans in action part I

Towards the end of the 6.25 meeting, the participants started to discuss what to do about these "swirling" rumors.

Junsu's father starts to voice his opinions [File 4 @ 8:44]. After throwing all the blames towards HoMin and SM, he tells the fans that he does not want them to write posts like the other side, again subtly mentioning that HoMin's side is spreading the rumors, but then he throws hints that it's possible to write about the meeting if personally inclined.

"It’s possible that there are people who write something at personal level because they really don’t like seeing those (rumors), but on the home pages, (we don’t want it)"

Then [File 5 @ 2:35] Jaejoong's sister suggests that they need to "defend" the rumors. People starts to discuss about their actions, and after some discussions, Jaejoong's sister gives out specific requests. [File 5 @ 3:42] She's basically telling the fans to spread the rumors discreetly, but not officially.

"Then, since each of you guys are administrators of fan sites, don't put up on the home pages because if those are put up on the home pages, it may be, you know, for the administrators, so doing it through personal blogs (laugh) or such routes …"

After Jaejoong's sister, Yuchun's mother gives out more detailed directive. [File 5 @ 4:39] She tells the fans exactly what needs to be posted. At that point, fans were already told many times that HoMin are staying with SM because they got individual offers from SM, and Yunchun's mother wants them to write why CJS are not taking HoMin with them. Anyone can guess what that means.

"In this situation, this is what I think we should do. We need to say the 5 needs to get together, need to say things like why we are not taking Yunho and Changmin with us, I think we'll get better response if we say those. If we don't show the truth this way, that will lead to (???) from what you want. Need to worry for Yunho and Changmin so the 5 can continue together, which is true. You know that’s how it is. The purpose of the 6.25 meeting was to dispel rumors, but now the fans are asked to spread the rumors created from the meeting. The only supposed rumor they discussed that was significant was about Crebeau not having anything to do with the breakup. HoMin's betrayal, contract, SM dividing the group were all new information told by the parents, and the breakup was confirmed in the meeting, again by the parents of CJS. For the fans of CJS, those new information was the "truth" CJS asked their parents to tell the fans.

After the meeting, the fans in the meeting went into action. They started spreading the new "truth" actively.

I think it is true that the kids wanted to leave SM for some time.
It's not to break up the group. They want to stay as TVXQ together independently. It's either to gain stronger voice within the company, or if that doesn't work, they decided to leave the company and create a company or change the company. I don't think this was decided recently, and it looks like it was planned and discussed for a long time.
Instead of providing better activities and situation, SM made the kids work like robots, didn't even pay them enough for the work, and ignored activities and musical directions the kids wanted, using the kids like machines. (For example, the song selections for the Mirotic concert was solely decided by SM and the kids' opinions were ignored)
Anyways, the power struggles between the kids and SM became obvious since the beginning of the year, and the kids started to stand against the company and expressed strong opinions unlike before.
They are boycotting schedules and commercials, and they are boycotting SM concert and the summer album, and now those activities are becoming uncertain.
Anyways, there were troubles and disagreements with the company, but they were united tightly as 5. SM must have changed their strategy, and I think SM started to come between the members.

SM only contacted Yunho, and gave him Evisu commercial and a starring role in a drama to lure him to stay in SM.

And Yunho accepted it.

Right now everyone talks about Crebeau, but the reason the kids are involved in Crebeau is to gain financial freedom so they can control TVXQ's easier, to escape from the company's control, and to stay as TVXQ forever.
But suddenly, Crebeau is used as a reason for the breakup, which is ridiculous and absurd.
The Crebeau business was offered to all 5, but Yunho did not accept it from the start.

You can see the post includes what was talked about in the meeting, but then the poster manages to add a few more twists of her own. It looks like she knew what needed to be done, getting creative with the post and doing more than what was asked. Notice "And Yunho accepted it" was written all by itself to emphasize Yunho was the one who took SM's bait. This is just one example of how the rumors started to spread. I'll be posting a couple more examples of how the participants of the meeting spread the rumors systematically in my next post.

The reason I waited a few days before analyzing the 6.25 meeting was to let the readers to read the translation first without my input. I was confident that any objective minded person could easily determine what the meeting was about, and the readers' comments seem to confirm my belief.

It is probably not really necessary for me to post anything about the meeting because the translation itself speaks volumes, and I'll most likely be repeating what the readers, have already said, but here it goes.

Participants of the meeting
Junsu's father, Yuchun's mother and Jaejoong's sister and the administrators of CJS's fan cafes (clearly stated in file 1 @ 1:00)

The parents claim the meeting is to dispel rumors and to talk about the truth, but the meeting doesn't really talk much about any specific rumors.

They talk about trying to keep TVXQ as 5, but most of the times are spent on talking how the group is already split into 3 and 2. To really get that point across, they emphasize that they're holding onto 1% chance of keeping all 5, implying there's 99% chance of the group breaking up.

The rest of the meeting is about how HoMin agreed to leave together but changed their mind at the last minute after getting special treatment from SM, how SM is trying to divide the group, and problems with the contract and SM's refusal to accept any change, putting ALL the blame for the breakup on SM and HoMin.

Around the end of the meeting, the participants discuss how to "defend" the rumors, but in reality, they are talking about how to "spread" the rumors that was created in the meeting.

Most of the readers who read my blog are fans of TVXQ, and know first hand how a fan's mind works.

Imagine yourself in that meeting, you are one of the administrators of CJS's fan sites, which mean you are a devoted fan of CJS, and you are listening to the parents of CJS talking to you. Do you trust them? I bet you do. Also, they have emphasized that CJS personally requested the meeting by calling their parents early in the morning magnifying the urgency of the matter, so of course you'd trust what's being said in the meeting.

They also stir the fans' emotion by saying things like how the members have suffered, crying during the concert, and Jaejoong feeling like dying earning the fans' sympathies. As CJS fans, they must've felt extremely nervous and urgent, feeling the need to do something to protect their idols from "evil" company that's trying to split the group.

Now it's time to take a closer look at what's said in the meeting.

Let me list some of the rumors/lies said in the meeting.

* HoMin changed their mind in one hour after getting offers of individual activities from SM.
* HoMin's parents had a meeting to spread rumors before 6.25 meeting
* SM is trying to divide TVXQ
* SM is using Crebeau just as an excuse
* Crebeau has nothing to do with the split
* Problem with the contract - 9:1 profit, 13 years contract - 15 including military service

Do claims listed above sound familiar? Those are often used to blame HoMin and SM for the breakup, and I'm sure many readers heard those many times already. It's simply amazing that the rumors created from a meeting in Korea over one and a half year ago are still used to bash HoMin by some people even without any proof to support those claims.

Let me go over them one by one in detail.

It's hard to believe that HoMin would change their mind on something as big as breaking up TVXQ in one hour. Also, it's hard to imagine that SM would find out about them leaving, and somehow promise HoMin individual activities to lure them back within that one hour. Even if it is assumed that HoMin had second thoughts about leaving, it should take more than one hour to make the decision. It's a decision that could affect the rest of their life, but they're claiming HoMin made that decision in one hour. If I were HoMin, I'd at least consult my lawyers, talk to my parents, and talk about it with CJS. There's no way I'd change my mind in one hour after agreeing to leave SM together.

Also, many fans argue that CJS won't breakup TVXQ for a cosmetics business, but they have no problem believing that HoMin would betray their friends and possible future of TVXQ for a mere commercial and a drama. Does that make sense?

As for HoMin's individual activities, TVXQ's individual activities were already planned in advance. This is the Avex's Max Matsuura's article posted on Dec 2009.

It talks about Junsu's solo work, and it also lists other member's planned individual activities. The activities listed are: Yunho, Changmin and Jaejoong's drama, Jaejoong & Yuchun's solo singles. But most importantly, it stated the activities were planned since the beginning of the year.

The above is Junsu's interview from Elle Japan magazine around May 2010, and it talks about his solo project, and in that interview, he mentions that solo projects for each members were planned since 2009 (unit activities and drama), so he was aware of each member's individual activities.
So individual activities were planned for all 5 members, not just HoMin.

[HoMin's parents had a meeting to spread rumors about CJS before 6.25 meeting]
This was the excuse given by Junsu's father and Jaejoong's sister for 6.25 meeting, and it is the sole reason why people claim there was a 6.23 meeting. This claim in itself doesn't make sense, but I am going to make a separate post about the 6.23 meeting.

Also notice when Junsu's father talks about rumors spread from HoMin's father's meeting with HoMin fan's admins [File 2 @ 2:02], he gives an example of badmouthing Jaejoong by comparing with Yunho being the leader in Korea. That's a pretty sneaky way of provoking individual fans knowing how competitive they could be.

[SM is trying to divide TVXQ]
This is such a ridiculous claim. They're saying SM wants to split TVXQ and kick out the 3 because of the cosmetics business. SM is in the business of making money, and TVXQ is their biggest product. There's no way SM would break up TVXQ for the cosmetics business. Anyone familiar with how businesses operate would know this doesn't make sense at all. When I post about the lawsuits, the readers will find out that SM tried its best to bring the 3 back to keep TVXQ intact. SM would be the last one that would want to break up TVXQ.

[Problem with the contract - 9:1 profit, 13 years - 15 including military service]
Jaejoong's sister's claim of TVXQ getting 1 from 9:1 profit distribution is a flat out lie. According to the contract, TVXQ gets 70% of net profit from overseas activities.

Also notice that Jaejoong's sister stated that she was surprised about the profit after seeing the contract. [File 3 @ 3:00] Then Junsu's father immediately corrects her saying they never saw the contract. Then later on when a fan asks how they found out about the 9:1 distribution, he simply says he happened to hear SM's president saying it. [File 4 @ 3:44]

About the 13 year contract, Junsu's father contradicts himself. He says 13 year contract is not bad, but when asked by a fan about it, he states it's too much for the kids and make the 13 year term seems longer by including the military service that has nothing to do with SM. Whether you're in SM or not, every man has to serve in the military in Korea. There are many articles or arguments made by anti-SM people talking about the contract term being 15 years including the military service to make it seem longer than it is. Where do you think that idea came from?

When a fan asked Junsu's father if the contract was ever changed, he said it never did. [File 4 @ 0:00] But the injunction judgment clearly shows that the contract was amended 5 times. Also, the contract itself shows that it was modified 5 times, so that's another lie. Notice the last modification was done in February 6. CJS filed a lawsuit in less than 6 months after they signed an amendment.

Now let me talk about other subjects discussed from the meeting.

In the beginning of File 3, Junsu's father talks about SM already taken measures to stop their activities in Korea, and CJS working only in Japan after leaving SM. They already knew CJS won't be able to work in Korea, and were planning to work only in Japan. I know SM is a capable company, but already blocking CJS's activities in Korea in that short period of time? Also, SM probably didn't know that CJS were filing a lawsuit for sure until they got the notice in June 24th. HoMin's parents' statement also states they didn't know about the lawsuit.

He was interviewed after the injunction judgment was granted, and here's an excerpt from the interview above.

Lawyer Yim also didn't think about the injunction initially. "When I consulted them first, I told them 'It is possible to get a judgment to void the contract, but you may not be able to work for a while.' That could be one of the reasons why the 2 didn't join. I thought about filing the injunction while reviewing the laws later on."

The lawyer states he advised CJS about the possibility of not being able to work during the lawsuit. Junsu's father also mentions about getting legal consultation in the 6.25 meeting. [File 5 @ 1:11]

So they knew they couldn't work in Korea during the lawsuit, and already planned to work only in Japan to begin with, but used that information against SM to make them look "evil". The lawsuit is still going on because of them delaying the lawsuit, but the fans are still blaming SM even today for blocking CJS's activities even though CJS already knew about it.

One other thing to note is that in the beginning of the interview, he states that he never met Changmin.

“(웃음) 이거 보도되면 안 되는데… 얼굴을 몰랐어요. 찾아온다기에 오전 내내 뮤직비디오랑 사진을 컴퓨터에 띄워놓고 얼굴과 이름을 외웠죠. 최강창민과 영웅재중이 끝까지 헷갈렸는데 다행히(?) 최강창민이 안 왔더군요.”

"(Laugh) This shouldn't go on the news... I didn't know their faces. I was told they'd come so I played music videos and pictures on the computer all morning to memorize their faces and names. I still was confused between Max Changmin and Hero Jaejoong, but fortunately (?), Max Changmin didn't come."

This also refutes the claim of HoMin leaving SM together. I highly doubt anyone would decide to leave SM and file a lawsuit without consulting the lawyer who's handling the case.

Going back to Japanese activities, we all know how active CJS were in Japan without HoMin after the injunction judgment was given until Avex suspended them, and only then CJS and the fans started to complain about their Korean activities.

Now let's go over the claim of CJS wanting to keep 5. The parents state they want to keep TVXQ as 5, but eventually, they always come back to the members already split into 3:2. Before this meeting, there were only rumors of TVXQ's breakup, but during the meeting, the breakup is pretty much confirmed by the parents. Then throughout the meeting, they blame HoMin, HoMin's parents, and SM for the breakup. So to the CJS's fans attending the meeting, the only way to keep the 5 is for HoMin to leave SM, and that's the 1% of hope that's left.

CJS are willing to quit Crebeau, then why didn't they? Because of the contract? But we know the contract is not that bad. The profit distribution is definitely not 9:1, and the 13-year term was signed voluntarily.

It was stated that the 5 decided to either stay together or leave together, so when HoMin changed their mind, why didn't the 3 agree to stay in SM? Another conflicting statement.

So this is what CJS's parents were telling the fans gathered in the meeting.

"TVXQ is going to breakup, and it's all because of HoMin and SM, and we're holding this meeting in response to HoMin's parents meeting spreading malicious rumors, so unless HoMin leaves SM with us, TVXQ is 99% done. Did we mention it was HoMin's fault, and they betrayed CJS?"

So after CJS's fans were fed with those information, what did they do? That's coming next.

Introduction to the 6.25 meeting

I'm sure most readers already read my translation of the 6.25 voice file, and if you haven't read it yet, please read it before reading this post.

Before I write my take on the meeting itself, I need to talk about how it was in Korea back then. I'm guessing most readers read my translation with today's perspective, but to truly understand what the meeting was about, you need to understand the background.

6.25 meeting was held on June 25, 2009.

That was when TVXQ was still together. Many long time fans should know that TVXQ struggled in Japan for the first 2 years or so, began to become famous in 2008, and really exploded in 2009. I believe they could have been much bigger than 2009 if they continued on as 5, and maybe even succeed in US, but it's unfortunate that things didn't turn out that way.

At that time, TVXQ fans weren't divided like they are today. Of course there were individual fans and couple fans, but they all supported TVXQ together, and there were no major fan wars between CJS and HoMin like today because the fans weren't divided. There was no lawsuit, no JYJ, no ChunJaeSu and HoMin, and no TVXQ comeback. There was only TVXQ.

It was no secret that CJS had opened cosmetics stores, and considering how close the fans were with the members and even with SM personnel, and also the fact there were many "stalker" fans who followed the members around 24/7, it is no surprise that some of the things the members were doing were pretty well known to the fans. There were rumors of certain members visiting law firms, and TVXQ's possible unit activities were also spread. Some fans were getting nervous thinking that the unit activities may lead to the group's breakup.

If you recall 6.25 translation and HoMin's parents' statement, they all talk about a meeting between 5 parents and the CEO of SM, Kim Young Min. Junsu's father specified the date to be June 6, and Yunho's father stated it was around May. The troubles started to brew after the meeting. According to HoMin's fathers' statement, one of the parent told them the 3 parents would stop working with SM, and everything started to break down after that meeting.

There were rumors of TVXQ's breakup once in a while, but nothing to note about. But the rumors of TVXQ's breakup started to build up around middle of June, and it exploded on June 26, 2009. The news about the rumors of TVXQ's breakup was all over the place on June 26.

I did a search on Korean portal site "Naver.com" with keywords "동방신기 해체" (TVXQ breakup), and found some articles. Check out the link yourself. There was one article in May 21 that talks about rumor but nothing else, but starting in June 26, many news articles about TVXQ's breakup started popping up. The articles are sorted by the date, so you can check out the news articles that were released before and after June 26, 2009, and you'll see that the number of news about TVXQ's breakup just exploded on June 26. Also note that there are articles about the cancellation of a photo session scheduled for June 25. The photo session was for the "Summer SMTown".

Now, what many fans do not know is that CJS sent a content-certified mail to SM to void the exclusive contract on June 24, 2009. Junsu's father talks about that briefly in the meeting saying it was nothing too big. I don't know how voiding their contract was not something to worry about for TVXQ fans, but I guess it was nothing to him.

The articles only say that the content certified mail was sent around end of June 2009, but according to the statement released by SM and the court testimony given by SM (will be covered when I talk about the lawsuits), the notice was sent on June 24. SM cannot lie about that since the notice is certified by the postal service.

Let's go over the events.

June 6, 2009 : 3 parents decided to stop working with SM after the meeting with CEO of SM
Middle of June: Words of TVXQ's breakup slowly started to spread
June 24, 2009: CJS sent Content certified mail to void the contract to SM
June 25, 2009: Cancellation of a scheduled photo session
June 25, 2009: Meeting with administrators of CJS fan cafes.
June 26, 2009: News of TVXQ's breakup blow up.

Coincidence? You be the judge.

Let's go back to 6.25 file.

Because some administrators of HoMin fansites and CJS fansites were friends - yes, there were such times - some HoMin fans knew there was going to be a meeting, they even knew what the meeting was about after it was held, but they couldn't fight back against the rumors caused by the meeting because everything happened so fast, and there were so few evidences available unlike today.

The information about 6.25 meeting was floating around, but CJS fans flat out denied the existence of the meeting. Details of the meeting were also known, but they were still rejected. I heard the file was already available to few people soon after the meeting, but it began to widely spread around the end of 2009 or beginning of 2010. Only when the file became widely available, CJS fans acknowledged the meeting took place.

I don't know exactly how the file leaked out, but it is obvious that the meeting was recorded by one of the participant who was one of the administrator of the CJS fan cafe, and it must have been one of them who released the file. So after the file became available, CJS fans started to discredit the voice file claiming that it is nothing, or by just magnifying the portions of the conversation that suits their purpose. They're still doing it today as you've all seen it yourself.

So that was a little history of the 6.25 voice file and what was going on around the time of the meeting.

The total length of the file I translated is 55minutes, and in the voice file, Junsu's father states that they got the place for one hour from 7 to 8, which means this is the full version. Listen to the files, and there's no evidence of editing. You can clearly hear people talking on the background throughout the recording.

Some also claim that the meeting is not much different than HoMin's parents' statements claiming that they're both trying to protect their sons, but that's simply ridiculous. HoMin's fathers' statements are signed statements officially released to the public. That means HoMin's fathers were taking full responsibility on what's written on the statements. Also, the statements were released AFTER the injunction judgment was given (November 2009) when the situation was looking bleak. Both HoMin and their parents didn't say anything until the situation really got out of hand, and only released the statements in the hopes of keeping TVXQ together.

On the other hand, 6.25 meeting was held secretly towards targeted audience, namely administrators of CJS fan cafes/fan pages, and the meeting was held BEFORE the lawsuit was filed when there were only rumors of the breakup. Publicly released signed statements vs. secret meeting with personal fan club admins? Not even close.

Crebeau's lawsuit against netizens

Well, I was going to sleep, but someone posted a comment about the lawsuit Wishop Plus filed against some fans, so I'll talk briefly about it. Then I'm really going to sleep.

Readers probably know what I'm talking about, so I'm going to skip the details. If you want to know about it, you can visit any of the "other" sites, and they should have it.

Here's what happened. Some fans were discussing about Crebeau and its products in one of the open forum. I do not know the exact details of the discussions because those posts were forced to be deleted. I heard they were basically discussing the facts I've posted on my blog.

So Wishop Plus filed a lawsuit against the fans, and the powerless fans who were threatened of a lawsuit had to post apologies and delete all their posts. I wonder how old those fans were. There's a good chance there were some young girls who got sued.

Now, some people are using what happened during that time to threaten anyone who talks about Crebeau to cover up for their idols. Those clueless people must be thinking that it's something new just because they recently saw it.

The whole thing happened around June 2010, and that was when the Crebeau's lawsuit against SM was still pending. Crebeau sued SM in March 2010. That was before the lawsuit against SM was dropped, and before Korean DA found CJS and their families were involved in the business and own 62.5% share of Crebeau.

In response to fraudulent lawsuit filed by Crebeau, SM filed a counter suit against Crebeau, and that lawsuit is still pending.

SM quoted Crebeau's lawsuit against the fans as one of the reason for SM's lawsuit, to protect the fans.

Some people must be proud of a company filing a lawsuit against powerless fans who were just discussing some FACTS, and they have no shame on quoting that lawsuit to threaten anyone who expresses their opinion against the "artist" they support whether it be true or not.

Now it's time to talk about the most controversial subject from this crisis, the 6.25 voice file (meeting/gathering).

The readers probably saw different interpretations of that meeting, but they were probably all partial interpretation, or just explanation of what it is.

So here's is the full translation of the 6.25 voice file. This is the full version without any editing. I will analyze about the meeting in my future posts, but for now, read the translations and decide for yourself what that meeting was about. The translation is pure translation without my opinion.

The meeting was held on June 25, 2009 by Junsu's father, Yuchun's mother, Jaejoong's sister, and the administrators and web masters of CJS's fan sites.

Note that I put time stamps on the translations for reference, and I'll most likely refer back to them on my future posts.

The actual file is a bit over 55 minutes, but it will probably take around 15 minutes to read. I've spent hours transcribing and translating it, so please read it through. You may want to read it a few times.

There were some parts I couldn't hear, and those are marked with "(???)", and I also put some explanation to clarify some sentences, and those are in parenthesis.

Some parts of the conversation will make you wonder what the speaker is talking about because there are sudden change of subjects within the conversation, but that's just how it went which is actually pretty natural in those type of meetings.

Things were suddenly turning serious for the last several days, and ChunJaeSu were asking some things because they’ve been hearing stuff in Japan through texts and other means.

I’ve heard some stuff too, but didn’t think too seriously, but the kids started to worry a lot because some things they’ve been hearing were getting strange.

So finally, the parents were contacted from Japan, and we were asked to at least tell you as much truth as there is, enough to avoid distortion of the truth, and because the administrators of Chunjaesu’s fan sites (café) and home page may be disappointed later (if we didn't).

So we quickly talked to Yuchun’s mother this morning because we figured it would be convenient to meet around Seoul, and she provided this place from 7 to 8. We should have served some food (meet in a restaurant), but we thought there were many people coming and there wouldn’t be any place available. We’re thankful that we met in this big space. Anyways, we are sorry for it.

You liked Chunjaesu and TVXQ, and it must have felt like getting hit by a bolt of lightning.

The children (ChunJaeSu) had a lot of worries as they have been doing activities for 7 years, and considering the contract and stuff, of course I understand it partly. You probably know a lot about it. So the parents could see those (worries) when the kids were talking, and as parents, we felt bad about them so...

There’s probably this rumor. "Junsu’s dad is leading to do such and such", but I have no intention to do so, and I only think of Xiah Junsu within TVXQ, and didn’t think about Xiah Junsu separately. If you’ve heard such stories around, please dispel those misunderstandings.

Other members are probably the same.
The kids lived like real brothers for 8 to 10 years, and they probably had same thoughts whenever they faced problems or went through pain.
But after 7 or 8 years, something's feeling uneasy.

When you say the kids are crazy about money, we don’t have anything to say as parents, but I think the money is secondary. The kids had some disappointments that were building up which lead to (?), so they proposed (change) to SM.

After the proposal, there was nothing, nothing, then (proposals were) ignored and ignored, then the dates passed without any solution and things kept getting buried and so forth, so the complaints from the kids kept coming out. The parents saw these things happen between the kids, so we were trying to make things better... I don't know.

Anyways, maybe it’s a wrong thing to say, but I called the CEO King Young Min because of some issues, and asked him to meet the parents because of the problems kids are having.

I think Kim was the CEO for 3 or 4 years? And that was the first time I called him.

I didn’t have any connection to talk to SM, didn’t know what to say, and whenever some things happened, I always contacted them through the manager. I knew the difficulties the kids were having, so I called president Kim Young Min asking to meet the parents, and the date was set to June 6.

On June 6th, Yuchun's mother, Jaejoong's father, myself, Yunho’s father and Changmin’s father had a meeting together, and I collected the kids’ opinions and conveyed them (to the meeting participants).

They were conveyed, and we also talked about many other issues. I felt that some parents had same thoughts, and others had different thoughts.

Since June 6th until today, the parents kept making suggestions, but whenever those were brought up, (SM) only tried to separate the kids, so the kids were having a hard time, but they still worked hard because of schedules. Yes, members’ and the parents’ thoughts can be different.

Everybody is all concerned about these rumors and gossips spreading around because we’re waiting for SM’s response to the suggestions we raised.

That’s why you are all here, but don’t think about it too seriously.

Here are my thoughts. You’re not being asked to fight and dispel those rumors for ChunJaeSu, absolutely not. Don’t do that. It’s just that there’s just this situation panning out. Anyways, we don’t know what the result is going to be between SM and TVXQ. We don’t know if 5 will be 1, 2 members, 3 members or 4 members, but right now, they just happened to split into 3:2.

So I think, (Yuchun’s) mother and (Jaejoong’s) sister have a lot to talk about, and also, we don’t know how this will pan out, but ChunJaeSu is gaining strength because of you guys, we don’t know what this situation will pan out to, don’t know if it will take 1 month or 2 months. Anyways, TVXQ is working hard for the existing schedules.
